The Algoma Highlands Conservancy (AHC) recognizes the many supporters and partners that have contributed to our major success in acquisition of the King Mountain property. In combination with our prior land trust holdings at the Robertson Lake cliffs, this acquisition consolidates a platform of approximately 1215 ha (3000 acres) for conservation, silent-sport recreation, environmental education, and sustainable forest management in the broader Algoma Highlands region. Throughout our endeavours to date, the Stokely Creek Lodge and the extended Byker-Phair family owners have been key partners and supporters.
Additionally, the AHC is deeply indebted to a number of individuals and organizations for their generous financial contributions, including: Greenlands Challenge (an Ontario Ministry of Natural Resources competitive funding program to help conserve Ontario's biodiversity), The EJLB foundation, The McLean foundation, Northern Ontario Heritage Fund Corporation, The Ontario Trillium Foundation, Community Development Corporation of Sault Ste. Marie, Gaylen and Susan Byker, the legacy gift provided by Chuck Peterson, and a very long list of "grass roots" private donors some of whom wish to remain anonymous. On behalf of current and future generations that will benefit from this partnership, generosity, and collective effort, the AHC offers a sincere and appreciative THANK YOU!
