Foster a Forest

Help the AHC protect and conserve the unique beauty and ecological wonders of King Mountain and Robertson Cliffs by participating in our “Foster a Forest” program! All funds donated up to March 2014 were generously matched by The Echo Foundation, a Montreal-based private foundation.

As a token of our sincerest appreciation, you will receive a beautiful certificate (view sample), a tax deductible receipt for the full amount donated, and the specific GPS coordinates of your acre. All donors for this program will also be recognized on our website! As an additional thank you, donations in the form of Trail Traveler, Creek Companion, and Peregrine Partner will receive the following gifts: Trail Travelers: A reusable shopping bag with the AHC logo Creek Companions: A reusable shopping bag with the AHC logo and recognition on a beautiful trailhead monument**. Peregrine Partners: A reusable shopping bag with the AHC logo, an earth friendly ceramic travel mug with the AHC logo, recognition on a beautiful trailhead monument** and FREE corporate advertisement on our website (if applicable).

**The trailhead monument will be erected at the end of the “Foster a Forest” campaign.

STEP 2: CHOOSE YOUR ACRE CLICK on the image of the map above to download a PDF version of our conservation forest. If you do not have a PDF viewer, click on the link below to install a free version of “Adobe Reader”. There are over 2500 acres to choose from! Zoom into the acre you would like to FOSTER and write down the unique ID number visible on the parcel. http://get.adobe.com/reader/ You can also  VIEW THE LIST OF AVAILABLE & DONATED ACRES to see which acre parcels are still available, or to select your fostered acre near a friend or family member.

STEP 3: CHECK-OUT When you are ready to make your purchase, click the “Foster Today” icon below, and you will be redirected to our secure PayPal donation page. Enter the donation amount, fill out your credit card information, and click “Review Donation and Continue.” You are then given the option to enter special instructions. This is where you can indicate the unique acre ID for the parcel you wish to foster. You also have the opportunity to name the parcel:

  • after yourself or your family
  • in honour, on behalf, or in memory of a friend or loved one

If this donation is being made for someone other than yourself please include the name(s) and additional wording (if applicable) that you would like to appear on the donation certificate (view example) in the Name the Parcel box below. (eg. “In Memory of John Doe”, “The Doe Family”, or “on behalf of John Doe”) if the box is left blank, the certificate will be made out in the name of the donor. If the information is not clear, an AHC staff member will contact you to ensure proper recognition is made. After you click the “Foster Today” button, you will proceed to PayPal where you will be asked for your name and address and payment information.
